Choose – $200,000 luxury car or cash?

It is fun to dream – at least we think so. For today’s daydream, which would you rather have – a $200,000 luxury car or the equivalent in cash? For me there is no question on this one. Accepting an extra $200,000 into my life would ease life a bit.  I could pay down some bills, help family and possibly celebrate a little.  Not to look a gift horse in the mouth – but I am hoping that this $200,000 is AFTER taxes! This is a simple decision for me:  cash, cash and yes, the cash.  I truly love to drive – and am having so much fun currently with…

If you were given $100 today, what would you do with it?

Extra money.  Something we all could use. Something we get excited about finding in a forgotten jacket in the coat closet.  This week, we are asking, if you suddenly found yourself with an extra $100, what would you do with it? This one is fun.  I love brainstorming ways to spend money. There have been many lists over the years detailing purchases from a large lottery win. Initially, when contemplating this $100, my thoughts flashed through a new pocketbook, pair of shoes, gift for the grandkids, jacket, dinner. Then, I realized what a privileged list this turning into given the current world events and decided I would donate the $100…

If money were no object, what would you buy?

I think we can say that we’ve all done a little dreaming of things we don’t already have or places we would love to see.  What we are asking you to do today is to ask yourself – what would you buy/do if you didn’t have to worry about the money it would take to do so? I do this brainstorming exercise often in a journal.  I do it when a particular lottery game gets big and I’ve bought a ticket, it’s fun to daydream about what I might use the money for.  I do it when I see a new car that looks fun to drive but that I…

What would you buy if money were no object?

Money. Purchases. Wishes. Dreams. Here we ask, if you did not have to worry about how much something cost, what would you buy? I have many a notebook page filled with the answer to this question over the years.  I love a good wish-brainstorm session and a large lottery opportunity usually prompts one of these for me.  The possibility of a large sum of money just waiting to be spent delights me and it does not take long before my page is full of wishes.  Looking back, my wants are pretty much the same regardless of the year – here let’s try it, as if I won the lottery. I…

What do you do with your pocket change at the end of the day?

Coins.  Change.  We are hearing that there is a coin shortage spreading across America but supposing you do have some in your pocket at the end of the day, what exactly to you do with it? I personally don’t have as much change as I used to have since I tend to use my debit card or my phone to buy just about anything that I want during the course of the day. However, Joe has a coin ritual that I love to watch.  Every day he puts his change onto his nightstand. One day, long ago, he brought our granddaughter Aviana there to show her the pile and let…

What was the hardest thing to get used to as an adult?

Growing pains. Things we had to get used to as we became adults. Can you relate to what Pam or Ellen decided was their hardest? I think for me, the hardest thing to get used to as an adult was a budget. Initially, when I started working full time, my check was my own to spend.  I didn’t have a car and my parents allowed me to live rent free.  After two years at programming school, I graduated in May.  A month later, I signed papers on our first house in the morning hours and was standing on an altar saying “I DO” that very same evening. I was thrown…
