What did/do you look forward to most about the weekends?

Weekends. They mean different things for people. Some work, some play, some do a combination of both. But wherever you happen to fall, what do you look forward to the most? When I was a child, I couldn’t wait for the weekends to just be able to play; no school. And as an adult, I can’t say the feeling has changed much although the type of play has. The weekends signal a cessation of routine for me – a shutting down of sorts and I love the feeling. We try to do a Family-Fun dinner on the weekends and I look forward to breaking bread and catching up with the ones…

What were the fashions when you were a teenager?

Trendy fashions.Every decade has them. Here we are asking the question – what were the fashions when you were a teenager?Lets see what Pam and Ellen remember. There were some distinct fashion when I was a teenager – lets see if you can remember these: Lets start with shoes – we had lots of platforms and clogs. And lets not forget what was possibly my favorite purchase of all time – my elastic pleather GOGO boots. Oh how I loved those things. Maxi skirts later graduated to mini skirts but I had a few maxis that I loved.  As a matter of fact, one of my favorites was one that I…

How did you wake up for school?

Waking up in the morning. We all do it and we all have our own routine. Our question this week is how did you wake up as a child for school? If you get our newsletter, you know that we grew up in a large center chimney colonial house built in the 1700s. Our old house had an intercom system installed which, as a teen, became the bane of my existence. If you know anything about me, you know that I am a…

What pictures come to mind when you think of playing with your siblings?

Siblings.   Spending time together. Do you remember what you used to do with your siblings? Pam and Ellen talk about growing up together and time spent with their brother Craig. I grew up with two siblings – my brother Craig, who was eleven years older than I and my sister Ellen who was almost four years younger.  Because of the age differences, I have very different memories with each. With Ellen, there were countless hours of playing house.  Part of our playroom was adorned with baby beds, changing tables and tons of baby clothes.  We had outside baby carriages too – large real baby prams that held many dolls each…

What subject was the easiest for you in high school?

We each had our favorites – click below to see. How about you? Did you like one subject more than others? All through school, I can remember being excited at the start of each school year to see who my English and Math teachers were going to be.  Eagerly writing in the corresponding notebooks what the curriculum was going to be that year and just what we would be learning.  Those classes always turned out to be the easiest for me – subjects that I felt comfortable with and looked forward to each day. In English, I enjoyed learning new words in vocabulary, creative writing in that special little blue…
