If you were a book, in which part of the bookstore would you be shelved?
Opening a good book can take you away to places you’ve never been and experience things you never dreamed of. If someone wanted to get to know you better, what section of the bookstore would they find you in? This question stumped me for sure. It appears in my year-end reflections every year and stumps me there as well. Because really, our lives are composed of drama, mystery, fantasy, travel, kids, romance, inspiration, humor, home and garden, crafts and hobbies, and self-help; my life has been lived in each of these. In school, was there ever a time when someone came to your rescue?
We all had those times when we were stymied by an assignment in school; or needed help in some way. Or was there a time that you needed someone to just be kind? Do you have a memory of a time when a friend, classmate, teacher, or someone else came to your rescue? Over my elementary years, I had a lot of bullying happen, heck into my high school years too. Describe your favorite article of clothing.
Shirts, Pants, Dresses, Suits, Jackets, Sweaters, Shorts, Hoodies, Socks. We all wear some combination of these on a daily basis, but do you have a favorite? My favorite article of clothing has become my PJs. Because of the Pandemic? Not sure. I have acquired several pairs of extremely comfortable pjs over the past few years, some as gifts, some purchased, and I can say that slipping into one of them is one of my favorite parts of my day. Are there any particular sayings that you remember your grandparents saying?
Did you spend a lot of time with your grandparents? Today we are asking you to reflect on them and then share – was there something you remember them saying repeatedly? I did not have a ton of interactions with 3 of my grandparents. My maternal grandad died either just before or after I was born, can’t remember that story. My maternal grandmother died when I was in my late teens and lived so far away that we really had no relationship.
