What movie or TV set would you like to live on?

We see all sorts of different homes, apartments, and rooms on both the small screen and the large.  There must be some that appeal to you.  Is there one that you would like to live in? I remember thinking that the house in the movie “father of the bride” was beautiful. The outside was majestic and having grown up in a 13-room colonial, it appealed to me from the start. But the living room, with its comfy-looking couches facing each other for conversation rather than facing a TV, is what really says “come on in, have a seat” for me. There are not many sets that immediately come to mind…

What one change would you like to see in your lifetime?

Changes – big and small.  They come at us daily. But what one change would you like to see in your lifetime? This is a pie-in-the-sky wish. And one that I can answer with one sentence. A revamped Political system – one that abolishes corruption. See what I mean about pie-in-the-sky?  Oh and while we are at it – No more hunger, poverty, violence, More pie-in-the-sky ideas. People sitting around a table sharing meals together – moments we all can remember from some point in our lives.  But here we are going to be focusing on the meals your Mom made and asking the question – did you have a favorite dish of hers? It is funny to me as I look back over the years eating my Moms cooking.  One thing stands out – I don’t remember much of it. What I do remember is the hours we sat down together around the table in her kitchen – her with the ever-present cup of coffee, me with a Tab.  (now that is a blast from the…

Did you have an attic in your childhood home?

Attics and Basements. Some folks have both – some have neither. We are looking for stories about Attics – care to leave one below?Or over on Facebook? If you’d like to see whether Ellen and Pam had one growing up – click their names below. Growing up we had, what I call, a glorious attic – an attic you accessed through a permanent flight of stairs not a pull-down ladder and you could stand up straight in all but a few feet in the front of the house and again at the back. Filled with boxes, totes, bags, furniture, old baby gear, tools, unused small appliances, books, photos, rugs, it was…

What are your earliest memories of your childhood home?

Childhood homes live on in our memory forever. Here we each describe our earliest memories of the house we grew up in.Care to share your memories below in comments?  Or over on the Facebook page? I grew up in a great home – a large center chimney colonial set up on a hill.  I have a lot of memories attached to different rooms in that house but my earliest?  Probably the fact that you could run around and around the first floor in a great big circle.  If you walked in our front door, you would find yourself in a hallway of sorts that housed the stairs heading up to the…
