What is the worst thing that has ever happened to you in an elevator?

Elevators. I think I can safely say that most of us have been in one at one time or another.  They are most certainly a quick way to get from one floor to another, especially in a skyscraper.  Our question today is about bad experiences on or with one.  Have you had one? The worst experience I’ve ever had in an elevator happened at our local JC Penny. (Which by the way – no longer exists.  I mean, not only had it closed but recently was razed – the whole mall was actually but that is a WHOLE- other story.) I had all three kids with me – they were…

What was the last thing that you saw read or heard that inspired you?

Inspiration can come from all different kinds of places – what was the last thing that you saw, read or heard that inspired you? I, just yesterday, read this rather intriguing short story about “out-of-the-box” thinking.  I liked it, and thought of it right away for this question,  Hope you like it as much as I. In a small Italian town, hundreds of years ago, a small business owner owed a large sum of money to a loan-shark. But if you went to bed tonight and dreamt of a dream job, in a dream company, what would you dream up? I pondered this question quite a bit. I thought I might love to be a chocolate tester at Hershey. I thought I might love to push a coffee cart around at Starbucks headquarters to all the employees – offering a beverage and some chatter. But after a lot of pondering, I came up with “Magic Moment…

What do you think is the most important thing for kids in school to learn today?

Children are little sponges – what do you think is the most important thing for them to learn in school today? Compassion. Kindness. Respect. Communication. Thoughtfulness. Cooperation. To be a good human. Though I am a firm believer in the need for children to learn the basics and also believe in the push for S.T.E.M. education, I fear there are things that many children are no longer learning at home:  compassion, kindness, caring for each other and more. I am convinced that if we, as a society, were more understanding and compassionate with each other, the world would not be where I perceive it to be today. I adore the…
