What is the last thing you do before you go to bed at night?

Nightly routines. We all have them whether they are planned or not.  What is the very last thing you do before you go to bed at night? I’d like to say that I have a healthy bedtime routine – one that feeds me mind, body, and soul.  I’ve honestly tried to formulate one many times over the years but have not been successful.  So, truth be told, in the minutes before I go horizontal and turn out the light, you can find me sitting in my rocker, munching on some sort of chocolate, scrolling through my phone. UGH…..  They say that we become what we repeatedly do.  I’m not quite…

    Have you ever hitchhiked?

Last week we asked if you have ever picked up a hitchhiker and today we turn that around to ask –   Have YOU ever hitchhiked? Have you been the one to stick your thumb out and hope that someone will stop to help? Yes, yes I have.  Luckily, I can say that I have hitchhiked without incident, well almost.  A few girlfriends and I decided to head over to Martha’s Vineyard for a few days during the summer of our 17th year. Our parents dropped us off at the ferry with a simple backpack on our back and a concocted story that we were staying at a friend’s family summer…

Have you ever given a hitchhiker a ride?

Hitchhiking. There used to be a LOT of that in the 60’s and 70’s, not so much today.  Our question this week is – have you ever let one in your car? Have you stopped to help?  And if hitchhiking brings back a lot of memories, be sure to look for next week when we will be asking if YOU have ever done it? I grew up in a very different world than the one we live in today.  Hitchhiking was an accepted way of getting around when I grew up.  I can remember riding with my Dad around town and picking up people was normal.  He would spot someone…

When and why do you like to be alone?

Funny thing.  I would not say I am an introvert.  I would not say that I am an extrovert.  I think I have one foot firmly placed in each camp.  Of course, this is pretty common for a Libra – to be on either side of the fence but regardless, when answering this question, I have to say I like to be alone. Sitting alone in my room, in my car or on a bench somewhere with some music playing softly in the background is very soothing for my personality.  Call it my way of meditating if you will.  It recharges me and allows me to then go back out…

If you were to volunteer for a charity, which would it be?

May May May!!! Things are starting to look so GREEN and we are loving this time of year. We are exploring the world of volunteering today.  Do you have a favorite charity that you would like to help at?  Ellen and Pam talk a little bit about the volunteering that they have done in the past and would like to do in the future My life at the moment is quite busy and I do not currently volunteer for anything, but there are lots of ideas running through my head.  In the past, I have sat at the bedside of the dying as a trained Hospice Volunteer, I have shaved…
